Best Restaurants in Montross

Our family loves to eat. We have a lot of fun trying different restaurants and different foods to find our favorites and which ones we think our guests will enjoy the most. Here’s a quick list of our favorites (in no particular order):

  1. Angelo’s Restaurant & Raw Bar: Known for its delicious pizza and fried oysters, this spot offers a mix of Italian and American cuisine where there’s something for everyone. The pizza is my favorite, while my husband goes for the oysters and the kids love the spaghetti. I'd recommend going earlier to make sure you can snag a table without a wait, or take some carry out back to Easthaven and enjoy the water views.
  2. Yesterday’s Family Restaurant: A favorite for its crab cakes, blackened fish, and friendly service. We love their 3 course meals- large portions and delicious!
  3. Northern Neck Brewery: Enjoy locally crafted beers and homemade cuisine in a cozy setting. They also feature wines from nearby Ingleside Winery if beer isn't your jam. From the fish tacos to the rotating specials, we can’t even pick a favorite. There are games for the kids and indoor and outdoor seating. Most weekends there is also live music and we've been amazed at every band we've heard.
  4. Fisher’s Roadhouse Café: The closest to the house, a new favorite in town, offering an upscale food truck with outdoor seating. From the donuts to the cheesesteak fries to the unexpected acai bowls, you will walk away with a smile. We haven't had a bad meal yet- from the quesadillas to the burgers to the cheese curds. Great portion sizes too. Update: starting in 2025 they will be taking over the Barn and expanding their space.
  5. El Mariachi Restaurant: This Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem, offering authentic dishes that are sure to please. the service is also great. Our favorites are the fajitas and mole.

  6. Art of Coffee
: A charming coffeehouse and art gallery, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee break. It used to be a car garage back in the day, which just ads to its charm. Also has allergy friendly offerings and beer and wine. Who knew there were artist pallet plates? We love ordering a sandwich which comes with a side, carrots and a cookie to round out a perfect lunch.
